Pest Removal

Take back & protect your property!

Have you ever pulled back the shower curtain, ready to hop in, only to discover a semi-unidentifiable bug? Just when you thought you were safe—there’s a home invasion!

We can help! At ACME Pest Control, we want to help you protect your spaces from unwelcomed multi-legged critters.

The most common type of house-hold bugs are:

  • Boxelder bugs are nuisance pests. They do not sting or transmit disease. They have only been known to bite in rare instances to defend themselves. Boxelder bugs are not known to cause damage to homes or significant damage to plants. However, their feces can stain light colored surfaces, and smashing them can also release an unpleasant odor.

  • Carpet Beetles thrive in homes, museums, warehouses, and other places where food exists. The young beetles look like tiny, hairy worms, and they like to feed in dark, undisturbed places like behind baseboards, under furniture, and in closets. They are often confused with other pests like bed bugs and fleas. As their name suggests, they like to feed on the fibers in carpets—especially wool, but will feed on any type of natural fiber, fur, or hair.

  • Centipedes feed on home-invading species like cockroaches and spiders, so an abundance of prey often lures these pests into homes. Residents may find centipedes in cement block walls, boxes, clutter on the floor, or floor drains. The warmth and safety of a heated home may also attract centipedes inside to reproduce. Be aware, centipedes will bite, and they do release poisonous venom.

  • Earwigs are odd looking insects which have pincers or forceps protruding from the abdomen. They are most active at night. These are somewhat intimidating to see, but they do not bite humans. They are not poisonous. They feed mainly on other insects and plants.

  • Ground Beetles are not known to spread any diseases, and while they can bite, they rarely do. Some species spray a defensive liquid that can be irritating to a person’s skin, but this is not a significant concern. They like damp areas, so it is a good idea to move mulch, rocks, logs, and other moist environments that are ripe for ground beetle habitats away from your home. Be sure to cut your grass and any large weeds surrounding your home.

  • Millipedes, unlike centipedes, are not venomous and are predominantly considered to be non-poisonous. However, there are some millipede species that produce irritating fluids from glands located on the side of their body. And let’s face it, no one likes to see an insect with too many legs to count running across the bathroom floor.

  • Pill Bugs, otherwise known as roly-poly bugs, are not known to pose any threats to humans. They don’t contaminate food or spread diseases. While they are outside, they are pretty much harmless, it’s once they get inside that they become a problem. And like most bugs, they like areas that are damp.

  • Silverfish are not harmful to humans. They do not carry any diseases. However, they do like to feed on starchy materials and items that are high in protein. They are most active at night and cause damage to books, stored food, and clothing. You’ll find them most often in areas of storage.

  • Stink Bugs are attracted to lights. It’s recommended to keep outdoor lighting to a minimum. During the evenings, turn off porch lights and pull-down window blinds to prevent light from spilling outside. While stink bugs do not cause harm to humans; they do destroy crops and cause damage to the agriculture industry. If you see one, don’t smash it; otherwise, you’ll discover why they are called stink bugs.

  • Weevils are a type of beetle that are primarily attracted to wheat and stored grains. In homes, they can infest pantries and make their way into dry food products. While they do not pose a threat to humans and eating one won’t cause ill effects, we understand that no one wants bugs in their food.
